An insulating hand tool has an elongated composite shank including a pultruded polyester/glass core overbraided with an epoxy/glass outer layer. One end of the shank is received in an axial bore in a plastic handle and the other end thereof is received in one end of a braided glass/epoxy sleeve, which receives in the other end thereof a bit holder which carries a permanent magnet for magnetically retaining an associated working bit. The shank is adhesively secured to the handle and to the sleeve and the sleeve is adhesively secured to the bit holder. The handle may have a bit storage cavity therein closed by a threaded cap.
Outil manuel isolé comportant une tige allongée en composite, comprenant une âme pultrudée polyester/verre revêtue d'un guipage extérieur époxy/verre. Une extrémité de la tige est reçue dans un alésage axial, dans une poignée en plastique et l'autre extrémité est reçue dans une extrémité d'une douille guipée, qui reçoit dans l'autre extrémité un porte-outil comportant un aimant permanent afin de retenir magnétiquement un outil de travail associé. La tige est fixée par adhésif au manche et à la douille, et la douille est fixée par adhésif porte-outil. Le manche peut comporter une cavité de rangement d'outil fermée par un bouchon fileté.
