ABSTRACT An electrically operated coffee maker having a flexible water compartment which can be expanded to an upper limit depending upon the amount of coffee to be brewed at any given time is provided with an annular dispensing container surrounding the flexible water container for receiving brewed coffee from the water container, the flexible water container having the capability of expanding laterally into the dispensing container when filled with water, so as to accommodate greater quantities of water in the water container.
