ABSTRACT The Dish Dryer appliance comprises a dish receiving enclosed area with an open and closable spring-loaded hinged lid at the top for the purpose of drying the dishes. The Dish Dryer contains an electric timer button positioned on a back panel on the top which controls an electric heating unit consisting of an electric heating element positioned behind an electric fan. Hot air created by the electric heating unit is forced at an inclined angle through an intake vent at the back of the enclosed area holding the dishes. This hot air flow creates a circular current of hot air inside the enclosed area, builds up hot air pressure in the enclosed area, heats up the dishes in the enclosed area, evaporates some of the water on the dishes, forces most of the water off the dishes, and escapes with water through holes in the base of the enclosed area where it is directed containing more moisture and forcing by pressure and gravity most of the removed water back into the sink by means of an inclined drainer duct tray, at the base of the enclosed area. When the dishes have been heated to a safe temperature which takes several minutes, the timer shuts off the heating unit. Now, moist hot air escapes back through the intake vents as well as down through the escape holes in the base of the enclosed area, while less moist cooler air enters by the same means. Remaining heat contained in the dishes escapes out into the new air evaporating remaining moisture left on the dishes. This takes several more minutes and the timer then turns off an indicator light positioned on the panel at the top. The whole cycle takes approximately six minutes or less and because the last part of the cycle uses heat in the dishes as a source to dry them, the dishes are cooled down when cycle is complete and energy is saved.
