More particularly, the invention relates to a branching fiber optic connector device for optical- ly and mechanically connecting two bundles of optical fi- bres with a single optical fibre and for supplying an electri- cal signal characteristic of the incident optical energy obtained by extracting part of the radiation in said fibre by means of a photodiode sealed to said fibre after removal of the cladding over a surface corresponding to the detecting surface of the photodiode, the refractive index of the sealing material being higher than the refractive index of the cladding.
