An electro-polishing fixture for polishing stents which incorporates multiple anodes (12, 16) in contact with the stent (18) and a center cathode (14) disposed coaxially within the interior of the stent and a curved exterior cathode disposed about the perimeter of the stent. The invention further includes an electrolyte solution adapted for plishing stents composed of nickel-titanium alloy and a method of using the electrolyte in combination with the electro-polishing fixture.

L'invention concerne une pièce fixe d'électro-polissage pour polir des stents qui intègre plusieurs anodes (12, 16) en contact avec le stent (18) et une cathode (14) centrale placée co-axialement à l'intérieur dudit stent et une cathode externe courbée placée autour du périmètre du stent. Cette invention a trait, en outre, à une solution d'électrolyte élaborée pour polir des stents composés d'un alliage de nickel et de titane, et à un procédé d'utilisation de l'électrolyte avec la pièce fixe d'électro-polissage.
