This invention concerns a recognition and management system for electrochemical generators connected to an application. The invention is characterized by the fact that it includes an electronic memory associated with the generators, and a means of reading the memory and a means of writing in the memory installed in this application. The electronic memory includes a non-erasable initial part containing information that allows identification of the generator and a second part that may be modified or erased, containing information on the operation and condition of the generator.
