The modified electrochemical machining machine according to the invention is completed by an e.g. ultrasonic, thickness sensor 18 and a loop comprising a thickness measuring device 22 and a relay 24, which switches as soon as the sought thickness is reached and which interrupts the power supply to the machine. Therefore there is no longer any need to periodically monitor the development of the thickness of the part.
