An electrode for a hand-held earthworm collecting device. The electrode has a first straight portion for insertion into the soil and a handle portion connected to the top of the straight portion and for connection to a source of electric pulses. The handle loops outwardly from the first portion, then downwardly, then inwardly to abut the first portion, and then extends laterally outwardly normal to the first portion and terminates in a plug. The plug is connected by a stretchable wire to the hand-held device, which supplies electric pulses.
