The invention concerns an electrode comprising a) an electrically conductive layer (5) for supplying or collecting an electric current passing through the electrode; b) a consumable electrochemical interface layer. The invention is characterised in that it further comprises an intermediate layer (6) made of a chemically inert and electrically resistant material. Said layer can be formed by dispersing fine carbon particles in a polymer binder. The invention is useful for producing electrodes with enhanced electrochemical capacity for an eletrophoretic device for transdermal administration of medicines or a device for electrical healing of wounds.

Elle comprend: a) une couche (5) conductrice de l'électricité pour l'amenée ou la collection d'un courant électrique traversant l'électrode, et b) une couche (7) consommable d'interfaçage électrochimique. Suivant l'invention, elle comprend en outre une couche intermédiaire (6) en un matériau inerte chimiquement et électriquement résistant. Cette couche peut être constituée par une dispersion de fines particules de carbone dans un liant polymère. Application à la réalisation d'électrodes de capacité électrochimique accrue, pour dispositif ionophorétique d'administration transdermique de médicaments ou dispositif d'électrocicatrisation de plaies.
