An electrodeionization apparatus comprising an endblock formed from a resilient material or a rigid endplate coated with said resilient material, andmethod for making the same. The resilient material may inlcude various types of thermoplastic elastomers, such as, styrene block copolymers, copolyesters, plolyurethanes, polyamides, thermoplastic elastomeric olefins, and thermoplastic vulcanizates. The resilient material may have a Shore A hardness of between about 40 and about 90.

L'invention concerne un appareil d'électrodéionisation comprenant un bloc terminal constitué d'une matière élastique ou une plaque terminale rigide recouverte de ladite matière élastique, et un procédé permettant de fabriquer ledit appareil. La matière élastique peut comprendre des types variés d'élastomères thermoplastiques, notamment, des copolymères séquencés de styrène, des copolyesters, des polyuréthannes, des polyamides, des oléfines élastomères thermoplastiques, et des vulcanisats thermoplastiques.
