An improved electrodepositable composition is provided comprising: (a) an active hydrogen-containing cationic resin electrodepositable on a cathode; (b) a capped polyisocyanate curing agent; and (c) an organotin-containing catalyst. The improvement comprises the addition to the electrodepositable composition of a water immiscible acid functional compound having a hydrocarbon chain of at least 5 carbon atoms. The composition provides improved cure response and appearance properties when electrodeposited over conductive substrates.

L'invention concerne une composition pouvant être déposée par électrolyse comprenant: (a) une résine cationique contenant de l'hydrogène actif, qui peut être déposée par électrolyse sur une cathode; (b) un polyisocyanate coiffé, servant d'agent de durcissement; et (c) un catalyseur contenant un organo-étain. L'amélioration consiste à ajouter à la composition destinée à former un revêtement, un composé non miscible à l'eau portant un ou plusieurs groupes acides et ayant une chaîne hydrocarbonée avec au moins 5 atomes de carbone. La composition présente un comportement amélioré lors du durcissement et un aspect amélioré après le durcissement, lorsqu'il est déposé par électrolyse sur des substrats conducteurs.
