An electrode and an electrode material for lithium electrochemical cells are disclosed. The electrode material is in powder form and has a particle size distribution wherein the measured particle size distribution of the electrode material has a median size D5o ranging from 1.5µm and 3µm, a D10 = 0.5µm, a D90 =10.0 µm, and a calculated ratio (D90 / D 10) / D50 = 3.0 which is indicative of a peak of the measured particle size distribution on the left of the median D50 which improves the loading and energy density of the electrode produced with this electrode material powder.

L'invention porte sur une électrode et sur un matériau d'électrode pour piles électrochimiques au lithium. Le matériau d'électrode est sous forme de poudre et a une certaine distribution de taille de particules, la distribution de taille de particules mesurée du matériau d'électrode ayant une taille médiane D50 allant de 1,5 µm à 3 µm, une valeur D10 = 0,5 µm, une valeur D90 = 10,0 µm, et un rapport calculé (D90/D10)/D50 = 3,0 qui est indicatif d'un pic de la distribution de taille de particules mesurée à gauche de la médiane D50 qui améliore la densité de remplissage et d'énergie de l'électrode produite avec cette poudre de matériau d'électrode.
