A process for dealkalization or acidification of aqueous salt solutions or for the splitting of the salt of such solutions employs a water splitting system of bipolar membranes (3) in conjunction with ion selective membranes (2); a two-compartment cell employs cation permselective membranes (2) to define acid and base compartments with the bipolar membranes (3), and a three compartment cell employs anion permselective and cation permselective membranes to define with the bipolar membrane salt, acid and base compartments; the process has particular applicability to the dealkalization of a monosodium peroxide solution containing sodium hydroxide produced in a hydrogen peroxide generator.
Le procédé décrit, qui sert à la désalcalisation ou à l'acidification de solutions de sel aqueuses ou au fractionnement du sel de ces solutions, utilise un système hydrofractionneur de membranes bipolaires (3) conjointement avec des membranes ionosélectives (2). Une cellule à deux compartiments utilise des membranes à perméabilité sélective aux cations (2), pour définir des compartiments acide et base avec les membranes bipolaires (3) et une cellule à trois compartiments utilise des membranes à perméabilité sélective aux anions et à perméabilité sélective aux cations, pour définir avec la membrane bipolaire des compartiments sel, acide, et base. Un tel procédé s'applique en particulier à la désalcalisation d'une solution de peroxide de monosodium contenant de l'hydroxyde de sodium produit dans un générateur de peroxide d'hydrogène.
