The present invention relates to an electrofusion coupler for use in joining together plastic pipes. More specifically the invention provides a fusion welding socket for use in coupling together plastic pipes, wherein the socket is intended to receive ends associated with outer and inner pipes to be coupled together with a tight fit, and has embedded therein heating coils which comprise resistance wires or filaments wherein the diameter of ends associated with the socket is grater than the diameter along an intermediate part of said socket, and wherein the diameter at said socket ends is adapted to receive, with a close fit, an outer pipe and the diameter along said intermediate part is adapted to receive with a close fit an inner pipe of a double-pipe conduit which includes two coaxial pipes and a leakage detection space located between said coaxial pipes, and wherein the heating coils enable socket material to be fusion welded with material of both the outer pipe and the inner pipe of two double-pipe conduits to be connected together with the aid of the socket, locally at positions associated with said heating coils, and wherein the socket includes at least one passageway which mutually connects spaces in the socket on both sides of the intermediate part. The invention serves to greatly simplify the work of joining together double-pipe conduits.

Le diamètre de la partie intermédiaire est conçu pour recevoir par un ajustement serré un tuyau intérieur (2) d'une conduite à double tuyau composée de deux tuyaux coaxiaux et d'un espace de détection (3) des fuites situé entre les deux tuyaux. Le manchon (18) comprend des bobines (24-27) contenant des fils ou filaments de résistance qui permettent une fusion locale de la matière du manchon avec la matière des tuyaux extérieurs (1) et des tuyaux intérieurs (2) qui composent deux conduites à double tuyau devant être raccordées l'une à l'autre à l'aide du manchon. Ce manchon comprend également au moins une voie de passage (21) qui relie les espaces du manchon situés sur les deux côtés de la partie intermédiaire (20) du manchon.
