A method for forming electrographic imaging elements (10) comprising a uniform dielectric layer (16) is disclosed. The method comprises coating a conductive coating composition containing polymerizable precursors onto a base (12), curing the composition to form a conductive layer (14) and coating a dielectric layer on top of the conductive layer. The elements, with enhanced properties, are useful for forming large size colored images, such as required for posters, and may also comprise a backside conductive layer (18).

L'invention a trait à un procédé de formation d'éléments d'imagerie électrographique (10) comprenant une couche diélectrique uniforme (16). Le procédé consiste à revêtir une base (12) d'une composition de revêtement conducteur contenant des précurseurs polymérisables, à faire prendre cette couche pour constituer une couche conductrice (14) et à enduire d'une couche diélectrique le dessus de cette couche conductrice. Ces éléments, dotés de propriétés améliorées, qui sont des plus utiles lorsqu'il s'agit de former des images couleurs de grande taille, des affiches notamment, peuvent également comporter une couche conductrice d'envers (18).
