Abstract of the Disclosure: An electrolysis system for the production of peroxy compounds is disclosed. The electrolysis system comprises an electrolysis cell having an anode assembly located in an anode compartment and at least one hollow cathode located in a cathode compartment, means for feeding a sulfuric acid electrolyte into the cathode and anode compartments, means for continuously recirculating the electrolyte contained in the anode compartment through an external heat exchanger to cool the same, and means for circulating a coolant through the hollow cathode to cool the electrolyte contained in the cathode compartment.
