The invention relates to an electrolyte matrix for a molten carbonate fuel cell, and to a method for producing the same. The inventive electrolyte matrix is characterized in that it consists of a matrix material that is subject to an increase in volume when the fuel cell is started. Preferably, the electrolyte matrix is produced from a matrix material that contains one or more lithium compounds, aluminum oxide and one or more zirconium compounds.

L'invention concerne une matrice électrolytique destinée à une pile à combustible à carbonate fondu, ainsi qu'un procédé pour fabriquer ladite matrice. Selon l'invention, cette matrice électrolytique se compose d'un matériau matriciel qui subit une augmentation de volume lorsque la pile à combustible est mise en marche.
