18 ABSTRACT An electrode is moved in a vertical direction and in a horizontal plane based on an input set value to form a predetermined gap between the electrode and a surface of a work, electrolyte is supplied to an electrolyte tank so as to submerge the electrode and the work. Pulses having a high current density are applied to the electrode for performing the electrolytic machining. Clean electrolyte is supplied to the gap for discharging the electrolyte including residual products. The machining cycle is repeated.
