Electrolytic Multi-Cell Testing Apparatus Mohamed Ibrahim Ismail 2444 Ploughshare Court, Mississauga, Ontario L5L 3M6 ABSTRACT This apparatus is designed to be used for monitoring chemical, physical and electrochemical processes by measuring electrode potential or any potential signal which correlate to the process parameters. Common or individual reference electrodes are used for electrode potential measurements. Electrodes may be used in various arrangements, such as bipolar or monopolar, either in parallel or in series connections. This apparatus has an unlimited number of electrode connections. However, six or multiple numbers are preferred depending on the micro computer or microprocessor interface used for automatic scanning of monitored mV signal. The apparatus could be used under various electrochemical conditions such as galvanostatic, potentiostatic, or galvanic conditions. Electrode potentials, potential drops between electrodes, current flow, and cell/contact resistance are among values to be measured. Any reference electrode could be connected to electrodes/cells being tested by salt-bridge capillaries and selector arrangements through the control board of the apparatus. This tester could be used for materials testing, pollution monitoring electrochemical, corrosion, and other electrode processes- This multi-sensor tester could be used for monitoring of porous and multi-phase systems, for measurements of mV signal, and for power distribution from single source to various locations or cells.
