A method of producing commercial purity aluminum in an electrolytic reduction cell comprising inert anodes is disclosed. The method produces aluminum having acceptable levels of Fe, Cu and Ni impurities. The inert anodes used in the process preferably comprise a cermet material comprising ceramic oxide phase portions and metal phase portions.
L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'aluminium de pureté commerciale dans une cellule de réduction électrolytique comprenant des anodes inertes. Le procédé produit de l'aluminium comprenant des niveaux acceptables d'impuretés de Fe, de Cu et de Ni. Les anodes inertes utilisées selon le procédé comprennent, de préférence, un matériau cermet renfermant des parties de phase d'oxyde céramique et des parties de phase métallique.
