Abstract of the Disclosure An electromagnetic, clutch-brake, positioning assembly is shown in an endorsing or printing environment which requires precise positional control. The assembly has an output shaft and a second output member which is an output gear which is located close to a rotary input member. The assembly also includes a feedback system which monitors the wear of an associated brake pad in the assembly to adjust the energization of the associated electromagnetic clutch and braking coils to maintain accurate positional control.
