ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electromagnetic clutch motor, e.g. for an industrial sewing machine, has a clutch section with a clutch ring secured in a non-rotatable and axially movable manner to a flywheel fixed to a motor shaft, and an output shaft with the motor shaft, the clutch section also having a clutch rotor fixed to the output shaft with the clutch ring opposite an adjacent side of the clutch rotor. A clutch solenoid urges the clutch ring against the clutch rotor, whereby the output shaft is rotated as a unit with the motor shaft when the clutch solenoid is energized to provide good acceleration and deceleration and reduced noise.
