Abstract An electromagnetic flow meter comprises a measuring tube (21) with two measuring electrodes (33,34) and a magnet system having a pole shoe (26, 27) on each of opposite sides of the measuring tube (21). A magnetic coil (30) surrounds the measuring tube (21) and the pole shoes (26, 27). The latter are connected to a yoke (32) for the magnetic return circuit by radial webs (28, 29) at opposite ends of the magnetic coil (30). This results in a flow meter having small overall dimensions. Fig. 4
