Abstract of the Disclosure An electromechanical counter which includes a clapper which is movable in response to an electric signal is mounted for pivotal movement about a first axis. A verge is mounted for pivotal movement about a second axis parallel to and spaced from the first and is drive connected to a counter. The clapper and verge are interconnected at a point intermediate the first and second axis and pivotal movement of the clapper in one direc- tion will cause pivotal movement of the verge in the opposite direction. The centers of gravity of the clapper and the verge are respectively coin- cident with the first and second axes. The counter is thereby rendered insensitive to mechanical shocks.
