LD 7854 ELECTRON EMITTING COATINGS IN METAL HALIDE ARC LAMP ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The oxides of scandium and dysprosium, and the borides of thorium, scandium and lanthanum, give superior performance as emission materials in metal halide lamps with respect to reduction of the glow voltage and reduction in duration of the glow phase. They are particularly useful in lamps containing sodium iodide and scandium iodide.
