A modular telecommunications system for an electronic audio system being specially configured for wireless telecommunication in accordance with a pre-selected standard. Modular units are adapted to be secured within AM/FM radios, tape players, automobiles, and the like, for establishing a telecommunications link with a wireless network. The modular unit comprises a housing for mounting a telecommunications transceiver in the particular item of electronic audio systems, and a microphone or keyboard is provided for generating user communication signals. In this manner, electronic equipment may be purchased for its conventional, non-telecommunications use such as entertainment or commercial monitoring with the added flexibility of wireless telecommunications. An electronic audio system having conventional audio components is modified for utilizing a telecommunications module containing a transceiver. A microphone and keypad are added to the electronic audio equipment for utilizing the functions of the telecommunications module.
L'invention concerne un système de télécommunication modulaire pour un système audio électronie (910), configuré spécialement pour les télécommunications sans fil conformément à un standard choisi au préalable. Des unités modulaires (31, 131) sont conçues pour fonctionner avec des récepteurs combinés A.M.F.M., des magnétophones à bande, des voitures, et similaire, pour établir une liaison de télécommunication avec un réseau de téléphone sans fil (950). L'unité modulaire (31, 131) comprend un logement (62, 63) permettant de monter un émetteur-récepteur de télécommunication (36) dans l'article audio électronique (250) considéré, et un microphone (381) ou un clavier (383) permet à l'utilisateur de générer des signaux de communication. Dans ces conditions, l'équipement électronique (250) peut être acheté uniquement comme article pour loisirs ou à usage commercial, sans l'utiliser comme instrument de télécommunication, mais en conservant cette option. Egalement, on peut modifier un système audio électronique (240) ayant des composants audio usuels, de façon à lui permettre d'utiliser un module de télécommunication (31, 131) contenant un émetteur-récepteur (36). Un microphone (366) et un clavier (362) sont ajoutés à l'équipement audio électronique (240), pour lui permettre de faire appel aux fonctions du module (31, 131) de télécommunication.
