An electronic ballast for a fluorescent lamp which possesses an oscillation circuit oscillating at a frequency of 40 to 60 KHz. Driver signals of a gate driving circuit are inputted to each gate of a low side MOSFET and a high side MOSFET. A gate driver signal for the low side MOSFET and an oscillation signal of the oscillation circuit are used to control a switch and a step-up circuit.
