An electronic combustion furnace includes a heating element comprising a heat proof vessel and a mixture of carbon powder and alumina powder vacuum sealed within the vessel. When the heating element is irradiated with microwaves, it is heated to a high temperature which can melt and combust waste materials within the furnace. An exhaust gas purifying device purifies gas generated within the furnace.
