An air filtering apparatus including motor selectively connected to a power source, a fan driven by the motor and creating an air flow, a replaceable filter element selectively positioned in the air flow path, and an electronic control. The electronic control includes a clogged filter element detector and an indicator and a missing filter element detector. The current drawn by the fan motor is sensed by a current transformer and compared to a predetermined threshold by a comparator in each detector. If the current drawn by the fan motor is less than the clogged filter element predetermined threshold, the clogged filter element detector operates an indicator. If the current drawn by the fan motor is greater than the missing filter element predetermined threshold, the missing filter element detector operates a controller to disconnect the fan motor from the power source.
L'invention porte sur un appareil de filtration de l'air qui inclut un moteur connecté sélectivement à une source d'énergie, un ventilateur entraîné par le moteur et créant un courant d'air, un filtre remplaçable placé sélectivement dans l'écoulement de l'air et une commande électronique. Cette dernière comprend un détecteur de filtre colmaté, un indicateur et un détecteur de filtre manquant. Le courant appelé par le moteur du ventilateur est capté par un transformateur d'intensité, et un comparateur dans chaque détecteur le compare à un seuil prédéterminé. Si le courant appelé par le moteur du ventilateur est inférieur au seuil prédéterminé pour le filtre colmaté, le détecteur de ce dernier actionne un indicateur. Toutefois, si le courant appelé par le moteur du ventilateur est supérieur au seuil prédéterminé pour le filtre manquant, le détecteur de ce dernier commande un contrôleur pour déconnecter le moteur en question de la source d'énergie.
