Multilevel converter comprising particularly a capacitor (C1, C2..., Cn), for each of its cells. The capacitors have rated charge voltages which are proportional to their order in the converter. It also comprises control means (BT, DA1..., DAn, pe2..., pen) intended to evaluate said voltage of the voltage source (VECn) and, as soon as said voltage is insufficient, to stop said rated operation of the converter (sd) and act on said switches (T1, T'1; T2, T'2...; Tn, T'n), so that initially, when setting said voltage of the voltage source, the latter charges first all the capacitors of the converter (C1, C2..., Cn), whereafter the control means restore the rated operation of the converter.

Les condensateurs ont nominalement destensions de charge proportionnelles à leur rang dans le convertisseur. Il comprend en outre des moyens de commande (BT, DA1..., DAn, pe2..., pen) agencés pour évaluer ladite tension de la source de tension (VECn) et, des lots qu'elle est insuffisante, pour suspendre ledit fonctionnement nominal du convertisseur (sd) et agir sur lesdits interrupteurs (T1, T'1, T2, T'2..., Tn, T'n) en sorte qu'initialement, lors de l'établissement de ladite tension de la source de tension, celle-ci charge d'abord tous les condensateurs du convertisseur (C1, C2..., Cn), après quoi lesdits moyens de commande instaurent ledit fonctionnement nominal du convertisseur.
