Multilevel converter comprising a voltage source (VE), a current source SC, and a capacitor (C1, C2, ... Cn), for each of its cells, and means of control comprising means for measuring a differential between the current observed in the said current source (SC) and the current demanded by that current source (Iref), and means of controlling operation (GRCn+1) to act on the said current differential and accordingly adjust the said duration of the first conduction state of all the cells of the converter in a direction such that the said current differential will be reduced. Additional means (GRCn+1) maintain all capacitors floating at their equilibrium voltage values.
Convertisseur multiniveaux comprenant notamment une source de tension (VE), une source de courant SC, et un condensateur (C1, C2..., Cn), pour chacune de ses cellules, ainsi que des moyens de commande comprenant des moyens d'évaluation d'un écart de courant éventuel entre un courant observé dans ladite source de courant (SC) et un courant demandé par cette source de courant (Iref), ainsi que des moyens de commande de marche (GRCn+1) pour prendre en compte ledit écart de courant éventuel et modifier en conséquence ladite durée du premier état de conduction de toutes les cellules du convertisseur dans un sens propre à réduire ledit écart de courant. Des moyens additionnels (GRCn+1) maintiennent l'ensemble des condensateurs flottants à leurs valeurs de tension d'équilibre.
