An organizing apparatus for sorting and mating members (1) of a plurality of members, the mated members forming a matched set. A preferred application is to sort socks (1). The invention comprises indicia (14) and electronic devices (3) preferably attached to each member (1) of the matched sets; a means to read said indicia (11) that may be human,or an electrically operated device (11); and a means to associate said read information with areas on a sock storage devices. Said association preferably includes the use of electrically operable indicator means (eg LED) attached to said sock storage device. The sock storage preferably may be temporary storage for the purpose of sorting/mating socks and/or for storage of socks for subsequent use. Means for automatically tracking the contents of luggage is disclosed.

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'organisation servant à trier et à apparier des éléments (1) parmi une pluralité d'éléments, ces éléments appariés formant un ensemble assorti. Une application préférée consiste à trier les chaussettes (1). L'invention concerne un dispositif à marque indicatrice (14) et un dispositif électronique (3) de préférence relié à chaque élément (1) de l'ensemble apparié, un moyen permettant de lire cette marque indicatrice (11) pouvant être un dispositif actionné électriquement ou manuellement (11); et un moyen destiné à associer la lecture d'informations avec les zones sur un dispositif de stockage de chaussettes. Cette association comprend de préférence l'utilisation d'un moyen indicateur actionné électriquement (par exemple une DEL) relié au dispositif de stockage de chaussettes. Le stockage de chaussettes consiste de préférence en un stockage temporaire permettant de trier/apparier les chaussettes et/ou de stocker les chaussettes pour une utilisation ultérieure. L'invention concerne enfin un moyen permettant de repérer le contenu de bagages.
