An electronic three-phase to single-phase power converter consists of a three-phase trans- former, the primary windings of which are connected to a three-phase power supply. A first secondary winding has a single-phase load connected in a phase with the three-phase transformer and a second and a third secondary winding are connected via a power converter to the single-phase load. The power converter comprises an a.c. to d.c. converter, adapted to convert the out of phase power of the second and third secondary windings into a d.c. voltage signal and a d.c. to a.c. converter connected to the a.c. to d.c. converter, adapted to convert the d.c. voltage signal to a single-phase a.c. voltage signal. It further includes a single-phase trans- former, a primary winding of which is connected to the d.c. to a.c. converter, and a second winding of which is connected to the single-phase load.
