ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electronic timepiece has a display which can be changed by an external instruction or the like, characterized in that the display is provided with Means to indicate the quanta being displayed. In one form, a digital electronic timepiece comprises a time standard oscillator: time of day information counting means for counting oscillations derived by frequency division from said oscillator: time of day information and calendar information digital display means: selecting logic circuit means for selecting output from said time of day information counting means or from said calendar information counting means for display by said display means: a manually operable switch for controlling said logic circuit means to select either time of day information or calendar information for display: and auxiliary indicating means, additional to the aforesaid display means, and also con- trolled by said switch, for indicating which information has been selected for display.
