ABSTRACT This invention relates to a electronic to pneumatic actuator or transducer useful in converting a given electrical signal into a proportional pressure signal. A d.c. stepper motor is mounted on a base plate which itself has an air inlet port and a reciprocabable restrictor for regulating the flow of air through the port. Linkage means interconnects the restrictor to the stepper motor so that. the restrictor may be linearly displaced from a given position in a given amount directly proportional to the degree of rotation of the shaft of the stepper motor from a given position. The actuator may be used with the nozzle air supply of any air-loaded self-contained pressure regulator such as a pneumatic relay. It has keen found to be rugged and more versitile then conventional balance-beam or floating coil type electro to pneumatic transducers.
