ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The improvement in electronic safety devices for detecting passage of wheels of a vehicle travelling along a track comprises an electromagnetic wave transmitter which periodically transmits a high power short duration pulse located on one side of the track and a receiver for such pulses located on the other side of the track such that the receiving of pulses is interrupted by the passage of wheels of the vehicle.
