ABSTRACT An electronically operated portable fastener driving tool is disclosed. Fasteners are driven into a workpiece by a driver blade which is actuated by a solenoid powered by a source of alternating current. Each actuation of the device produces two driving strokes delivered to a fastener. The tool is also provided with means for pre- venting more than one fastener from being driven during each actuation of the tool. A preferred embodiment in which the device is double insulated is disclosed. Control circuits which permit operation at either 110 V. or 220 V. are also disclosed.
