ELECTRONICALLY TUNEABLE LIGHT FILTER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electronically tuneable light filter which selects given wavelength of light is disclosed. The filter utilizes an acousto-optic device activated by conical or cylindrical bulk type ultrasound waves. The acousto-optic device disperses light. The geometry of an image is extracted from the dispersed light by using a reflective system which also rejects unwanted bands of light. Selection of the desired band is achieved by manipulating the frequency of ultrasound wave which activates the acousto-optic device.
