ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electrophotographic device having a rotatable medium on which a latent image is formed and subsequently visualized into a developed toner image using a usually liquid developer, and the developed toner image is transferred to copy material. In this invention there are means, e.g. a cleaning blade, for cleaning the rotatable medium for repetition use and the rotatable medium is rotated for a predetermined period, during which the machine does not carry out a copying process, with the cleaning means being operated. This improves the copy image quality and prevents toner residues, especially solidified toner residues from impairing the image quality or damaging the drum surface.
