An electrophotographic photosensitive material is here disclosed which comprises a conductive substrate, and at least an undercoat layer, a charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer formed on the conductive substrate, the electrophotographic photosensitive material being characterized in that a binding resin contained in the charge transfer layer comprises two or more kinds of poly- carbonate resins having different average molecular weights. The polycarbonate resins are preferably of a bisphenol Z type. Furthermore, a solvent for a coating material which is used to form the charge transfer layer is preferably a chlorine-based solvent. The electrophotographic photosensitive material has good light-responsive properties and excellent repeating stability.
