Abstract An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising an electrically conductive support and a photosensitive layer formed thereon, wherein said photosensitive layer contains an arylamine compound of the formula (I): Image (I) wherein each of Ar1, Ar2, Ar3 and Ar4 which may be the same or different, is an aryl group which may have substituents, or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents, each of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, an alkyl group which may have substituents, an alkoxy group which may have substituents, or a phenyl group which may have substituents, and each of R7 and R8 which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group which may have substituents, or an alkoxy group which may have substituents.
