An electropolishing apparatus and method are provided for polishing stents and other medical implants. The apparatus includes a motor that rotates a roller. The roller continuously rotates the medical implant to be electropolished. One of the advantages of the apparatus and method is that marks generated around the electrical contact between the anode and the medical implant are minimized. In addition, the medical implant is polished more evenly than conventional electropolishing systems.

L'invention concerne un appareil et une méthode d'électropolissage destinés au polissage d'endoprothèses vasculaires et autres implants médicaux. L'appareil comprend un moteur qui fait tourner un rouleau. Le rouleau fait tourner en continu l'implant médical à électropolir. Un des avantages de l'appareil et de la méthode est que les marques générées autour du contact électrique entre l'anode et l'implant médical sont réduites au minimum. De plus, l'implant médical est poli plus régulièrement qu'avec des systèmes d'électropolissage classiques.
