ELECTROSTATIC AEROSOL SCRUBBER Abstract of the Disclosure A method and apparatus for removing entrained particulate matter from a gas stream in which the particles are charged with an electrostatic charge of one polarity, droplets of electrostatically charged liquid are sprayed into the gas stream and the resultant mixture injected into a bubble-forming mechanism wherein bubbles are formed by the gas containing the charged particulate matter and liquid droplets. The smaller mass charged particles are attracted toward and collect upon the charged spray droplets or bubbles. Liquid containing the particulate matter then is removed from the gas stream via known techniques.
