Method for segregating a dispersion having a continuous organic phase and a disperse aqueous phase from a caprolactam production process, wherein electrostatic coalescence is applied to the dispersion at an electric field of at least 500 volts per centimetre and a frequency of at least 5 Hz, whereby the formation of a separate aqueous layer is induced.

Procédé pour ségréguer une dispersion présentant une phase organique continue et une phase aqueuse dispersée dans un processus de production caprolactame et dans lequel on applique une coalescence électrostatique à la dispersion sous un champ électrique d'au moins 500 volts par centimètre et une fréquence minimale de 5 Hz, lequel procédé a pour effet de former une couche aqueuse séparée.
