This invention relates to a process and a device for producing an even and homogeneous coating of liquids or powders on small free-falling objects that are not earthed. The process and the device according to the invention are primarily intended for surface coating of medicinal products and foodstuffs. According to the invention, the non-earthed objects are positively or negatively charged in a suitable manner or not at all and are then caused to fall freely and individually through a substantially cylindrically-shaped zone (2), mainly along its central axis, where the coating substance, having first, in a suitably manner, been charged with a charge of opposite polarity to that of the objects or if these are not charged, with a positive or negative charge, is sprayed onto the particles by means of at least one or preferably at least two spray nozzles (3) which are placed peripherally around the zone (2) and directed mainly towards the central axis thereof, whereby the coating substance is attracted to the object because of the potential difference between them, and an even, homogeneous surfrace coating is obtained.

Procédé et dispositif permettant d'obtenir un revêtement uniforme et homogène de liquides ou de poudres sur de petits objets en chute libre qui ne sont pas reliés à la terre. Ce procédé et ce dispositif sont essentiellement destinés à l'enrobage superficiel de produits médicaux et de denrées alimentaires. Des objets non reliés à la terre sont chargés positivement ou négativement de manière appropriée, ou ne sont pas chargés, puis subissent individuellement une chute libre dans un espace essentiellement cylindrique (2), sensiblement selon l'axe central de cet espace. La substance d'enrobage, qui a subi préalablement une charge, selon un procédé approprié, d'une polarité contraire à celle de l'objet où, si ce dernier n'est pas chargé, une charge positive ou négative, est diffusée sur les particules au moyen, de préférence, d'au moins deux buses de diffusion (3) disposées à la périphérie du volume (2) et dirigées vers l'axe central de ce volume, de sorte que la substance de revêtement se trouve attirée vers l'objet en raison de la différence de potentiel entre l'un et l'autre pour produire un revêtement superficiel uniforme et homogène.
