ABSTRACT An electrostatic spraying apparatus is provided wherein the liquid supply to the spray nozzle is via a mechanical valve operated by an actuating member. The actuating member is connected to a remote operating lever which is preferably electrically conductive, via a connecting member including an elastically extensible portion, such as a spring. The connecting member is electrically conductive thus providing an electrical connection from the operating lever to the spray head. The arrangement provides optimum control of the supply of liquid to the spring nozzle.
