2099570 9216878 PCTABS00016 The invention discloses electrostatic toners containing a polymer binder and as charge stabilizer a compound of formula (I), wherein Z stands for a C1-C20 alkyl, possibly substituted with phenyl, C5-C7 cycloalkyl or possibly substituted phenyl, X and Y stand for cyano or a residue of formula -CO-OR1, -CO-NR1R2 or -CO-R3, wherein R1 stands for C1-C20 alkyl, possibly substituted by phenyl, or C5-C7 cycloalkyl R2 stands for hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl and R3 for C1-C20 alkyl, possibly substituted by phenyl, C5-C7 cycloalkyl or possibly substituted phenyl, or X and Y together stand for a residue of formula -CO-L-CO- or -CO-CH=C(CH3)-O-CO-, wherein L stands for C2-C4 alkylene and Kat+ stands for the equivalent of a cation. Also disclosed is the use of the above mentioned compounds as charge stabilizers in electrostatic toners.
