Docket D-1437 Abstract of the Disclosure ELECTROSTATICALLY DEPOSITING SMALLER PARTICLES FIRST Apparatus (74) and method are provided for electrostatically depositing first particles (64p) onto a work piece (18), and for subsequently depositing larger particles (64p) onto said work piece (18). The apparatus (74) includes a particle generator (20) for supplying particles (64) into a depositing chamber (22) proximal to a first end (54) thereof, for transporting the smaller of particles (64p) toward a second end (56) thereof of said depositing chamber (22), means (60a) for electrostatically changing said thirst (64p) and said smaller (64p) particles. and a transporting mechanism (26) for transporting said work piece (18) through said depositing chamber (22) starting at said second end (56) thereof.
