The invention concerns an element with expansible relief. Said element (10) comprises sealed cavities (24) distributed in a uniform system. Each cavity (24) contains a product such as wax which varies in volume reversibly when a given temperature threshold is exceeded, and an individual heating member (26). The cavities (24) are separated from the front face (10a) of the element by a mobile or deformable member (38). A separate control of each of the heating members (26) enables a controlled development of the relief of the front face (10a) of the element. Such an element can be used for three-dimensional transcription of tactile (for visually disabled people) or visual data.

Elément à relief évolutif. Un élément (10) comprend des cavités étanches (24) réparties selon un réseau régulier. Chaque cavité (24) contient un produit tel qu'une cire qui change de volume, de façon réversible lors de franchissement d'un seuil de température donné, ainsi qu'un organe chauffant individuel (26). Les cavités (24) sont séparés de la face avant (10a) de l'élément par un organe (38) mobile ou déformable. Un pilotage séparé de chacun des organes chauffants (26) permet de faire évoluer de façon contrôlée le relief de la face avant (10a) de l'élément. Un tel élément peut être utilisé pour retranscrire en relief des informations tactiles (non-voyants) ou visuelles.
