A bath is provided which is particularly, but not exclusively, suitable for use by or with the elderly, infirm or alternatively abled. The bath includes a sitting surface supported by at least one support member at a convenient height above floor level for a user to sit on and a sealed, movable liquid container having a base and upstanding side walls dimensioned to be able to receive the sitting surface. The container may be sealably mounted on the at least one support member for movement between a lowered position in which the container is below the sitting surface and a raised position in which the container base is adjacent the sitting surface and the container side walls project above the sitting surface.
